Consolidation And Minimizing Projects

Lesson #10

Put everything in one package and ship it.
Meaning that you don't have to send small packages of information over time. It's a lot more convenient, when you take the extra time to get all the pieces of the project together, and then send it in one email, or post it all in one response. Bits and pieces that go out have to be put back together on the other end, and sometimes it can be misunderstood, or viewed as incomplete until the rest of it comes in.

So, the idea is not to rush everything and send what you have now and then send a little more later, and then at the end of the day send the rest of it. Unless it's a project that requires information right now, it's not really efficient, and some of the pieces are not understood, until the rest arrives. If you have the whole day to do something and you can do it in 5 minutes, then do that. If it's something that takes the whole day, then take the whole day to get it right. If you have a 5 day project, don't wait until the last day to start it. Use all the time you have to put it together.

We all know stories about people that make a decision, and then change their minds... and then change their minds again, until they finally decide. By the time they decide, there are too many changes to understand what the solution really is. Because mobile devices are convenient sometimes people send short text messages to their friends, and over the course of the day, they form one big idea that they could have sent in an email just once. Try to consolidate and put everything together.

Most of the assignments that you receive will be short and require that you find information and send it back. Others will be projects that cover days of research. Unless someone says otherwise, use the entire time that you're given to find the solution, read over it, make sure there isn't a better solution and submit it. The learning process is ongoing and over time you'll find methods that work for you and save time.
